The room was very very beautiful. The check-in has been entertaining but at the same time disastrous. There was no name on the bell downstairs and you had to have a phone and charged to have the access to the room. No staff has been on site for two days. The owner kept on exchangeing very vague textes on whatsup and waited until the check out to explain the payment procedures which was very annoying because during the whole stay I had to wonder and ask when and how to settle the payment of the room, wasting my time during the staying. The location is fantastic in a great area.

It can be better….

B&B in the center of Catania!
Fantastic location to get around the center and beyond, market, Via Etnea very close.... In short, the location is top!
Some things could be improved...
Room with en-suite bathroom, spacious, bright and air-conditioned. Discordant note is the strong smell from the bathroom drains and the completely broken shower cubicle.
For the rest I would say absolutely comfortable, self check in (which I find super useful)
Friendly and helpful owner.
There is no breakfast except a coffee machine with a few pods.
It is located on the second floor of a building without a lift. (for us it wasn't a problem)
Obviously we didn't stay in the room for long...

Bad overnight stay

You will find a completely different structure when looking at the photos, a dirty and ruined accommodation, not suitable for people, we slept with the smell of sewage in the room, a pillow that really needs to be thrown in the dustbin, rotten bathroom furniture, I took photos to make it clear idea of the bad experience, and finally grumpy staff.

Prominent position

B&B Residenza Umberto in Catania enjoy a prominent position between a carparking and the main Street (via Etnea). The man that runs the business is a gentleman and will satisfy every request of yours. The building outside seems to need a refresh but rooms are well equipped except for one thing: bed in my room was uncomfortable.

Only stayed for one night, but very cozy and the ceiling in the room vas very high! Easy access, close to food, airport and train.
