Ain't No Place Like Home

I stayed at the Flamingo for 6 weeks in June and July and have to say I was very satisfied. It's quiet, close to the shops, the mountains and the bus stop. It came with an awesome kitchen which was great because I love to cook. Though I think my most memorable moments were hanging out with Li and Charlie talking about the pinecone lady, politics and everything in between. Hope I get a chance to return. Adios Amigos!

Being in China, enjoy charm and silence of this place

Located just a few meters from historical village of Baisha, only 10 minutes from Lijang but a completely different atmosphere. So no mass turism here. Clean air and peace. Flamingo hotel is the place for relax, feel at home and get inspired from the ancient life style of the rural China. If you want to get some information about where to go or what to do in the province, the owner Chan is a very knowledgeable and well traveled person who will give you the best tips.

peacful refuge at comfy distance to nearby attractions

We stayed here three days and really enjoyed the peaceful, quiet atmosphere. The hosts are not only super helpful with all your needs but can also provide good company, with a good level of English. Their premises are nicely decorated with lots of subtle details which give the communal areas as well as the rooms a comfy atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and clean with comfy beds and are equipped with a good asset of accessories. We also chose this beautiful countryside location for it's tranquility over the main hustle and bustle in Lijiang, yet still in easy reach by citybus nr 6. Taking a bicycle or walking to visit charming villages and monasteries around is definitely enchanting, altogether with the lovely landscape and plenty fresh air. Locals are generally of friendly and kind nature so do not hesitate to get in touch!

Of the beaten track but close to scenic highlights

Very friendly staff. We really enjoyed this place. The location is somewhat of the beaten track, which we like; but still a good starting point for biking and walking in the Lijiang vicinity. Bus line 6 (1 yuan) takes you to Lijiang, Schuhe Old Town or JuLong snow mountain, and a 2 hour taxi drive takes you to the Tiger Leaping Gorge. We had a truly relaxing stay after negotiating the beautiful upper trail
