Authentic Costa Rica

Far from the ultra tourist sites, the lodge is located at altitude with a nice view. The human-sized complex is very well maintained, quetzal suites super spacious. The restaurant is of good quality and the service very professional. We spent 2 very pleasant nights.

Just loved it!

This was the nicest hotel we stayed at during our trip to Costa Rica. I suppose the main reason was it felt like staying in someone’s rather nice home. The decor is sensitive and pleasing. The staff helpful and charming. My group was split between the garden rooms and the main house. Breakfasts and dinners were excellent. It was a shame no lunch was available as the weather was not really suitable for exploring or walking. The fires n the evening were a joy. Space to sit, read and play games just perfect. I just hope the new owners don’t change its character and calm ambience.

Amazing property with beautiful views and hikes. Our room was clean and staff was very polite. Would definitely recommend!

Unique architecture!

Very unique architecture and very enjoyable lodge. Cool front doors that are reminiscent of the gates of a castle. Stone walls, and gleaming wood floors. They do a great job with limited resources. Breakfast is included (place your order the night before, including what time). Pleasant wait staff at breakfast. Fruit, yogurt, and orange juice are self serve, the main plate is served at table.
Dinner was excellent - quiet atmosphere, very good waiter. (Make a reservation as far in advance as possible). I had the chicken breast, which was moist and flavorful. A choice of sauces are offered - I tried the orange sauce, and then the mushroom sauce a different night. The beef was not available the first 2 nights we ate there as the delivery was delayed.
Recognize that this location is far from any city and wonderfully unique, but if you need a bell hop, ice machine, or other big city amenities, then this may not be the best choice for you.

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Spacious and beautiful rooms. Spaces with lots of light and surrounded by nature.
The only thing that must improve is the breakfast; little varied and that while in Costa Rica should include minimal rooster pinto, cheese, and gluten free options type tortillas.
