The hotel is fairly close to the central train station and is available at a very low price per night. It has an art museum look with paintings and.other works in the hotel.
That being said, the accomodations were very poor. The worst part was the room. Although the small bed was clean, the rest was dirty and grimy, especially the walls and carpet. I constantly used sanitizer for my hands. There was a vintage typewriter on the desk. Although it was intended to address the art theme and provide a cool and fashionable setting, it should have been in the lobby so that the desk is free to provide more space for the guest. There are two toilets and three showers down the hall, which were clean. And the staff was very sincere and helpful. The breakfast which I didn't include, was somewhat expensive. Overall, to my disappointment, Arte Luise didn't meet my expectations . Wifi was good though., as was the heating system. Still, I will choose another hotel next time in Berlin.

My room was close to the railway, and so was very noisy. There are no elevator to the rooms from the lobby. The entrance of the hotel was difficult to fine.

I spent 6 nights in mid-July at Arte Luise Kunsthotel, in Berlin. Excellent, helpful staff at the reception desk who all appear to be fluent in English. Very high standard of cleanliness maintained in the bedrooms. Helpful and clear information about baggage storage facilities before check-in or after check-out. A major plus is that guests' choice of type of breakfast can be changed from day to day - so you are not committed to a major buffet breakfast for the duration of your stay, as is the case with most hotels.
Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, etc., all within easy walking distance. Alternatively, to go further afield in Berlin or to go to Potsdam - or eventually, to go to the airport - the Friedrichstrasse Station is also easily accessible.
The sight of an elevated railway line running by one corner of the hotel was initially worrying. However, I was out during the day and if trains were running during the night, I certainly never heard them. Neither trains or other guests disturb my sleep at any time.
I appreciated the effort which had gone into developing the artistic theme for the hotel. I only experienced the van Gogh room but came away with a greater interest in him.
Clientele seemed to be drawn from the full range of ages.
I will be very happy to return to the Arte Luise Kunsthotel when next in Berlin and would have no reservations about recommending it to family and friends.

The hotel is really nice, with rooms decorated by artists. But the noise from the railroad tracks ruined most of my night, even with earplugs. Paid for two days but left after one. Gave me free coffee but no refund.
