Honest Baden cuisine!
The team at the Hotel Badischer Hof has once again managed to bring a tear of memories to my eyes with their excellent food. The food and the service were so good that I traveled back in time. And not everything used to be bad... I travel around the world and always enjoy coming back here. This is home and it is lived. Thank you for your hospitality. I will be back.

I don't think it was anything
Wellness completely different: In itself, we assumed that we wanted to be pampered in the wellness hotel not only culinary, but also by massages, steam bath, sauna and solarium, which is just part of wellness. That was a big mistake. The room and the food were tiptop, but massages that were great on offer were spotless. The staff in charge would have had an accident. If that was indeed the case, was there no help? The steam bath (a plastic cabin for 2 people) had a technical defect, on request here it, the fitter was notified. So there was no steaming. The sauna area was also much too small compared to the size of the hotel, drinks after a sauna session were out of stock and were also not replenished. The solarium was at least written with the sign broken. In short: If the hotel carries the suffix wellness, this is freely invented. ZERO points are awarded for this achievement.

Zunächst einmal freut es uns, dass Sie mit dem Zimmer und dem Essen zufrieden sind. Die gemütliche Atmosphäre und die leckeren, regionalen Speisen sind sicherlich wichtige Kriterien die zu einem rundum angenehmen Aufenthalt beitragen.
Es tut uns leid zu hören, dass die Massagen, die Sie so sehr erwartet haben, aufgrund einer längeren Erkrankung unserer SPA-Mitarbeiterin nicht stattfinden konnten. Leider fiel auch die Aushilfe kurzfristig krankheitsbedingt aus, was zu der Situation führte, dass wir Ihre Massagen leider nicht durchführen konnten. Wir sind über diesen Zustand ebenso unglücklich und arbeiten momentan daran, solche Engpässe künftig zu vermeiden und bedauern, dass dies Ihren Aufenthalt beeinträchtigt hat.
Bezüglich des Dampfbades möchten wir Ihnen mitteilen, dass es zum Zeitpunkt Ihres Aufenthaltes ein technisches Problem mit dem Verdampfer gab, das glücklicherweise mittlerweile behoben wurde. Dennoch bedauern wir sehr, dass Sie unseren Wellnessbereich nicht in vollem Umfang nutzen konnten. Wir möchten an dieser Stelle auch darauf hinweisen, dass der Wellnessbereich mit einer Fläche von 800 m² auf unserer Website angegeben ist. Uns ist bewusst, dass die Größe des Saunabereichs für einige Gäste möglicherweise nicht ausreicht, und nehmen Ihr Feedback diesbezüglich ernst.
Was die Getränkeversorgung im Saunabereich betrifft, so werden diese regelmäßig alle zwei Stunden von unserem Personal aufgefüllt. Sollte es jedoch vorkommen, dass die Getränke im Saunabereich früher leer sind, zögern Sie bitte nicht, uns telefonisch zu kontaktieren, damit wir schnellstmöglich Abhilfe schaffen können. Zusätzlich steht im Ruhebereich jederzeit Quellwasser zur Verfügung.

Great getaway!
We spent a three-night stay (3 adults) in this hotel, ideally located in a pretty village!
- I had booked for more than two months, for my daughter's and mine's birthdays. I was sent a reservation with a beautiful renovated double room! What a disappointment when I arrived, not at all the room described on my reservation (the photo did not match at all!)
- BIG downside in the room, the ventilation that starts when you turn on the light...at night when you get up to pee, it's very annoying! It takes about 20/30 minutes to turn off. Very hot in the room!!!
- Arriving at 12:15 p.m. we wanted to go and have the snack provided as part of the half board. At the restaurant, the owner (we assumed) rebuffed us a little, claiming that it was not time yet (no greeting, no welcome). Moreover, during the stay, she was very busy with her family…his mother, his children, grandchildren…Not very professional!!!! On Tuesday we were alone at the swimming pool (until 4 p.m.!!!)
- The indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi and swimming counter-current, very good but it was very, very hot! Outdoor swimming pool, very good!
- The sauna/hammam area, small…in tiny cabins! To access the changing rooms (clothes lockers) in this space, there is a step (which is easily missed) and the light does not turn on automatically! We need a detector...
- On the morning of my birthday, I had a nice surprise on our breakfast table.
- From Saturday to Sunday, there were a lot of people (including children shouting, running, bickering, etc.)
- The half-board meals, very good and on Monday evening, there was a barbecue with different meats (tender, excellent) salmon, ratatouille (geschmortes Gemüse) and gratin dauphinois. The waiters are very attentive, friendly but none speak German correctly.
Overall, we had an excellent stay with beautiful walks around the village!

Verehrter Gast, wir sind einfach nur sprachlos und wissen nicht was wir Ihnen antworten sollen. Da Sie diesen Vorfall absolut falsch darstellen und Tripadvisor diese Bewertung wahrscheinlich nicht löschen wird, möchten wir uns zu Wort melden. Wir haben für Sie in der Ferienzeit eine Ausnahme gemacht und Ihnen eine Übernachtung bei uns ermöglicht, weil Sie so gerne Ihren Geburtstag bei uns verbringen wollten. Also buchen Sie bei uns eine Nacht von Samstag auf Sonntag in der Ferienzeit (Hochsaison) einen Familienaufenthalt für 6 Personen und einige Kinder im Wert von fast 2000 € und stornieren diesen 7 Tage vorher – grundlos. Als „Grund“ nannten Sie uns am Telefon, weil es so heißt ist und wir keine Klimaanlage im Restaurant haben. Als wir dies als Storno-Grund nicht anerkannten behaupteten Sie ganz plötzlich, dass unser Servicepersonal unfreundlich gewesen wäre, bei Ihrem Besuch eine Woche vorher. Unsere Mitarbeiter Frau B und Herr S erzählten jedoch etwas ganz Anderes von Ihrem Besuch. Fakt ist, Sie haben mit uns einen schriftlichen Beherbergungsvertrag abgeschlossen der ganz klar besagt, dass bei Buchungen die weniger als 4 Wochen vor Anreise storniert werden 80% Ausfallkosten zu leisten sind (im Übrigen auch bei Buchungen über Booking.com). In Ihrem Falle wären das rund 600€ gewesen, da wir aus Kulanz nur die reinen Übernachtungskosten ohne Verpflegung mit einbeziehen. Direkt am Telefon haben Sie uns dann mitgeteilt, dass Sie keinen Cent bezahlen werden. Daraufhin haben wir erwidert, dass wir in diesem Falle leider rechtliche Schritte einleiten müssen, auch wenn dies garnicht unsere Art ist. Und nun behaupten Sie, wir wären im Unrecht? Es tut uns wirklich sehr leid, dass wir kein Hotel mit Klimaanlage sind und Sie daher Ihren Aufentahl bei uns nicht durchführen wollten. Dennoch rechtfertigt dies nicht Ihr Verhalten und solch eine öffentliche Bewertung. Ich glaube weitere Erläuterungen unsererseits sind nicht notwendig um den Gästen die diese Bewertung hier lesen zu verdeutlichen, dass wir nicht die Schuld tragen.

Beautiful view
We had a conference in the hotel for a few days, so I got to enjoy the restaurant for lunch.
Generous portions and a friendly staff. We were a big group so it naturally was a challenge logistically, but the food was always aesthetically presented.
