December 25th 2024 Night Stay

Great place at Giudecca from which you reach Venice in a couple of minutes. Available, nice and caring staff with a positive energy. Restaurant and bar make this place special. Rooms are clean and neat. And the hostel is close to the vaporetto Vitelle stop (lines 2, 4.1 or 4.2.). This was an unexpected discovery in Venice. I would definitely return there ! Thank you,

We thought it was a good idea

I went with a friend of mine to see the Venice Biennale. It seemed a nice and promising place, the staff is nice but the rest terrible. Assuming that for a room with 14 beds (I know we are in a hostel but it is already a bit 'lots) there are two showers and two bathrooms (without bidet). Shower among other things that you can not do except renting hand dryers, which are not included. Cold water in the bathroom. Just one of the myriad things not included, such as a banal padlock, that only give you if you pay €5. Or like cleaning that won't even let you find the bed made but you have to make your own. Not to mention the air conditioning shot at ball on November 23. We were hoping that at least the common areas would redeem this place, but no, because as soon as we go down to work on the computer they tell us that we have to leave because they have to have a private party, so we decide to surrender to dinner, but no we can not do that either because the kitchen closed at 8. We decide to go to dinner somewhere else and come back after dinner, and so, curled up in the corner of a sofa and in a plastic baby chair together with 4 other losers like us, with two sockets for the power we conclude this heady mystical experience for the night. The next morning we go for breakfast and we are greeted by a wonderful show (image attached). I conclude by saying that the only positive thing about this place (which is not even clean by the way) is the staff; young and kind. The rest to throw away, don't go.

Buongiorno, grazie per aver speso del tempo per lasciarci un commento. Le camere ed i bagni sono stati sistemati in modo da accomodare i nostri ospiti nel modo piu' sicuro e confortevole. Ci scusiamo se non siamo riusciti nel nostro intento. Il non trovare il letto gia' preparato rispetta gli stardard igienici di un ostello. Per quanto riguarda l'aria condizionata possiamo assicurarvi che e' stata fatta la conversione ad aria calda come da leglislazione regionale. Se la pulizia dovesse essere un problema, potete sempre riferirlo al nostro personale, il quale fara' del proprio meglio per assistervi in questo tipo di situazioni. La nostra squadra di pulizie lavora sodo per fare in modo che tutto sia al meglio, in ogni caso passeremo loro il vostro commento per poter migliorare in futuro. Saluti, Generator Venice

It wasn’t what I expected, and it’s expensive for what it offers. I also don’t understand why they weren’t more friendly about refunding when I booked for the wrong day.

Dirty and not friendly personal

I stayed in Generator Venice for my birthday and it was not really good. The personal on reception not friendly, the girl was annyed because I asked her where I could find the plug in the common hall and she said "under the table", so I searched for it under the table all around, and when couldn´t find, I asked her to show me. So she was so annyed by having to come to the table to show me that the plugs were just INSIDE OF THE FLOOR under a heavy tap (which I actually thought couldn´t be touched). So maybe she should improve her english, or at least not getting annyed when has to do her job (by the way, there were nobody else in the whole area).
The barman is also unfriendly, not speaking, not smiling, nos asking anything and getting annyed if you ask him for something extra o change something.
The room is very dirty, I founf a dry contact lens on my headborad shelf, also it was covered with dust. Was obvious that nobody cleaned there for ages, so the question is, why do you have the check-in and check-out schedules? Just for nothing or to clean actually?
Another disadvantage is that the hostel is on the other side of the gran canal, so if you want to ge to the city you have to buy ticket for vaporetto which costs 9,5 euros for 70 mins. Quiet uncomfortable, if I knew I would rather have paid a hotel in the city center and wouldn´t have been going there and back all the time on vaporetto.
