Excellent

The ubication is excellent and the hotel is confortable. The breakfast is complete.
Mohammed is a very kind and charming person, if you need something you can ask him. The dinner was so good. We enyoyed a lot our stay at Fes.

Ok for 2 - 3 nights.

The riad is very centrally located, just a few minutes from the blue gate. There is parking nearby. WiFi works perfectly, everything is very well maintained and clean, very good breakfast.
BUT: there were no coat hooks in our room, no storage for suitcases or clothes. There were coat hangers in the small boxes. So one point deducted. We were picked up from the "blue gate" and received very friendly - until we booked no guided tours.

Bad surprises, many cons and few pros

Upon our arrival in Fes, the first news was that we would not be staying at the Dar Nour, which we had booked and already paid for in advance (at a reasonable price for what was offered on the card), but in an adjacent facility owned by the same owner, which, however, turned out to be much poorer. The room assigned to us had nothing of the 4 star rating advertised, it had a bathroom that was practically unusable given how tiny it was, and above all it had no heating. The air conditioner didn't work: promising to repair it in the morning, we were given an already battered electric heater, which upon first use emitted a flame (risking setting fire to our luggage and furniture) and went off. The room was changed for us only 24 hours later (with another one still in the secondary structure), during which we were in the cold.
The girl who welcomed us was always exquisitely kind, mortified by the inconveniences and attentive to our requests. The same cannot be said of the boy who accompanied us on the first day: he treated us badly because we had already booked the excursions for the following day from Italy (he wanted us to cancel them and was only convinced when I showed him the voucher with the payment already sent). Furthermore, he reacted badly to the request for breakfast before the excursion (8 am, not 5.30!), saying that it would have been impossible at that time - in the end I proposed a solution, asking to give us something packaged.
In short, very few pros in this stay. We don't usually complain or protest and we both adapt easily, but I think it's important to point out a possible rip-off to other travelers like us.
I strongly advise against turning to structures that sell one thing and then implement a different one!
Other than that, the location was definitely good and the breakfast (the one we managed to get on the second day) was plentiful and well assorted. What is saved, above all, is the kindness of the girl at the reception.

Not the most luxurious spot, but definitely a good choice

This small riad is quite conveniently located near one of the entrance door of the Medina, in a small blind alley.
It is very near to the parking lot of Bou Jeloud, so you actually don’t need a rented cart for bags if you park there (about 50 dirham for two whole days).
Pay attention that nobody is at the riad normally, so it is better to stay in touch with the owner not to face a closed door when you arrive (even though when we passed by the owner’s house, he stepped out by himself).
We had the suite at the first floor, quite confortable with the bathroom shared by the two rooms placed on both sides of the bathroom. Decent furnishing in the bathroom and in the rooms.
Not that much space to place dresses or luggage content.
You can get the entrance door key, so you can get back from your dinner anytime.
Breakfast (on the roof) is wonderful. We also had an enjoyable dinner at the riad where you may have a bottle of wine as well (and the Moroccan wine may be unexpected in quality).
The owner is very friendly and ready to help in any possible way, and all the hotel staff too.
Not the most luxurious spot, but definitely a good choice. With some renovation, a four star mark would be deserved.

Lovely small riad, congenial host!

Travelers will love this beautifully restored riad! The location near the Blue Gate is perfect, and the accommodations and authentic food were excellent (thank you, Miriam, for the breakfasts on the rooftop and dinners in the riad!) We definitely needed our guide, Hassan, in the medina to direct us to interesting sites - the original tannery, metal works, rug merchant, pottery workshop, spicery, etc. And the girls really enjoyed the scrub in the hammam nearby. Excellent stay! (Only negative: Lots of uneven stairs...worth the effort, though!) Even though it was Ramadan, Abdennour made our two nights very memorable ones...thanks!
