Always a nostalgic and wonderful experience.
I have stayed at club quarters on Wacker several times and have always been very pleased with this hotel. Everyone is very helpful that works there and that has always been the case. It is located in a wonderful location that you're near museums theatre restaurants, the magnificent mile water tower place Navy Pierre. And so many other places.Jock and Ray were two employees that were exceptionally helpful to us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend club quarters! very reasonable price. If you're looking for a luxury hotel, this is not your place. But if you're looking for a friendly down to earth hotel that provides everything you need this is your place.
I also love the nostalgia of this building. It is a glorious beautiful building that represents the city of Chicago in a timeless way. It is remarkable architecture, and there are very unique things about this building. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you stay here.

Love it!!! We will be back!
We really enjoyed our stay! Can’t wait to go back. The hotel is very conveniently located. The train is only a couple blocks, the BigBus has a stop right across the street & it’s easy pick up for an Uber or Taxi. Plus it’s early walking distance to lots of things!
The staff at the hotel always greeted us with a smile & warm welcome or leaving. They were very helpful.
We felt very safe durning our stay.
Our room was wonderful, very spacious. The beds were comfortable, the pillows are great! The bathrooms in our room were very nice. Loved the shower. We really liked the refillable bottles offered, very nice touch!
We really enjoyed this hotel & will definitely stay here again!!! We weren’t expecting a nice view but had a wonderful view of the river, it was beautiful morning & night! Looking forward to our next trip in!

Great location on the Riverwalk!
Great location!
Right on the river and could walk to the River Walk and Wrigley Building and other architectural structures… then shopping was just beyond that and also the Navy Pier! The bean and fountain were a little longer to walk- but we did it! I would definitely stay here again- in this area!!!! And I forgot to add pizza was just across the street!

What a gem!
What a gem! This centrally located downtown hotel was perfect for our first-time Chicago adventures! A 15-20 minute walk from many attractions (Art Institute of Chicago, Cloud Gate, river walk, boat tours, Lake Front Trail) and not too far from public transportation. For those locations a bit further we took Lyft/Uber (e.g. Second City, Athenaeum Center) with rides taking only about 20 minutes. The hotel is quiet, unassuming and with very friendly and helpful staff. We also enjoyed the premium coffee machine on the 2nd floor. Next time we're in Chicago we'll definitely stay here.

The River Hotel downtown Chicago - Rude and Disrespectful staff
When we stopped at the River Hotel downtown Chicago to book a room for one night, my initial interaction with the desk attendant was horrible. She was extremely rude and not interested in helping me whatsoever. She told me to go book online and that she would only talk to me once I did that. So, I booked through Orbitz. The whole reason we stopped there was because you are advertised as 'Pet Friendly' on Orbitz. We had 2 cats that we were traveling with. Once I was done booking, checking in on their system, and placing $100 security hold on my credit card, I asked if we could have a cart to help get all of our things and the cats inside in one trip since their parking is 4 blocks away. Once I said cats, she immediately told me I would not be allowed in the hotel. Despite me telling her that they were 'pet friendly' she said we would not be allowed. She was very condescending. She said I would have to cancel my reservation online...which I showed her was listed as non-refundable. She said not her problem and to call Orbitz to figure it out. She was nothing short of rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. I have never been treated like that. I have been working with Orbitz to get my money back. The total bill was $171.22 that I paid, of which covered the room and parking fees. To date, I have been able to get my room refunded for $135.07 but they have so far not refunded the parking of $36.15. I am NOT paying the parking fee, as I was not even allowed into the hotel and never stepped one foot into the parking ramp. I am pretty sure they would not be willing to roll down their car window and throw $36 out to just blow in the wind. Not too sure why they would expect me to just throw away my $36???? I have called Orbitz and they have had two attempts to contact this hotel to resolve getting the final refund for parking, but they will not answer the phone. This whole situation has been nothing short of frustrating and a bad experience.
