The breakfast was not as good as it usually be. The syrup to the waffles had a bad after taste, and the turket sausage was overcooked. Otherwise, the hotel stay was amazing. You have a customer here for life.

5 nights pre Christmas work trip, breakfast not up to par 12/18 through 12/23/24

I stay here fairly often because it is a short walk to several restaurants I like.
I got an upgraded king bed west view room.
The breakfast buffet was not up to normal expectations for a Hampton and not open at the advertised tome a couple days.
Rooms with a view over the river and toward Newark are even numbered.

Class Act Experience

I’ve stayed at quite a few Hampton Inns over the years, but I have to say, Hampton Inn & Suites Newark, NJ really raised the bar for customer service! The suite was spotless and super comfortable, complete with lovely city and river views. Plus, it’s conveniently located near local transit for a quick trip to New York and some amazing dining options. I’ll definitely be keeping this place in mind for my next visit, and I think you should too! If you happen to be flying into Newark Airport or just exploring the area, make sure to ask for James at the front desk—he’s absolutely fantastic!

It wasn't a terrible hotel by any means, just lacked staff or even good staff at times. When I arrived, we waited for some time while the guy was on the phone, nice guy, but way too long of a wait. I went back to the desk later that evening and no one was there, I could hear someone in the back watching a TV but she didn't come out for at least ten minutes and was rude. The rest of the staff I dealt with were fine but they were understaffed. As a whole, the hotel wasn't bad, though the pool was closed. Room was fine. It was clean. Not a terrible area either.

Didnt like that the pool was closed, and that they charged for parking by the night and not just for the stay. Especially, when the lot was full and we ended up parking on the street for our 2nd night.
