We loved our stay at the recently renovated Sky Rock hotel in the heart of Sedona. It met exceeded all our expectations.
Skyrock is conveniently located with easy access to hiking trails, shopping, and great and varied dining options. We will be back!

Lipstick on a pig
Mixed bag at this Marriott “motel”.
Nicely decorated, recently renovated hotel outside of the daytime chaos of Sedona. Nice, caring staff. William, a particularly delightful “fixer” consultant was warm and welcoming upon arrival.
Some front desk staff was dismissive and not welcoming or warm in any way. Seemed like we were bothering when we needed our check out process completed. Another person more interested in their computer screen than the bodies in front of them.
So this place is not recommended.
It is a motel masquerading as a high end hotel. Outside entrances to your rooms with a 2nd patio back door of glass make for a loud evening and loud morning from guests arriving and leaving, dragging their luggage across concrete along with car door slamming and headlights piercing your quest for peace ruin the attempt to rest. Housekeeping carts rolling past both sides of your room the room at 0800 disallows sleeping in restfully. Housekeeping can’t find a way to quietly open and close doors they are serving and open the deadbolt which slams doors as they walk in and out. Lazy.
The hotel is trying too hard with limited space. Their breakfast buffet is set up in the lobby but they don’t use the space effectively and cause people to but up against each other while simultaneously getting their plate and exiting out of one door to the patio.
They also run a morning yoga class on the shared patio space, right outside your glass bedroom door. Just dumb use of space and a morning distraction if you want to rest.
The rooms were customary sized and beds comfy. They weirdly didn’t have ironing boards or irons, strangely opting for a steamer instead.
Their evening dinner options were soggy and cold, giving me the idea that they only have room for one of those gross easy-bake ovens from Starbucks. Breakfast was better.
Anyway, I wanted to like this place but the value for money proposition was just plain lacking. My wife called the property “lipstick on a pig”. We left early because we just couldn’t take all the noise.

Disappointed
I had a little bit of work to get done while there, so I got my laptop out and logged into the wifi. It was incredibly slow. It was getting hard not to lose my patience waiting for things to load.
If you were lucky enough to snag a spot, which we were the second night, you can sit out on their deck with the fire pit going and a glass of wine in hand. The only positive I have to say about this place.
Lastly, I'd like to mention that if there's any wind, get ready to feel like there's a nascar race going on outside your door. The wind was howling through the bottom of the door all night long. I now see why in their welcome paper that they offer ear plugs. It was crazy how loud it was, however I feel like they could have added some weather stripping to the bottom of the door to decrease that annoyance.
Sadly, I would not recommend this place nor will I be coming back. Luckily, Sedona has lots of other options for me to try next time.
